Hospitality ministry: greeters, collectors

Hospitality in our Church is vital in creating a sense of community for worship. Greeters at our Church’s Liturgical celebrations carry out the important mission of welcoming worshippers warmly. We are the faces of Christ in our Father's House especially to newcomers, non-Catholics, those with special needs e.g. elderly, handicapped, carers of young children.

Our presence and greetings are to remind people that they are crossing the threshold of the secular world into a sacred Place of Worship

Our greeters are the first people one meets upon entering St. Ignatius church. They are our “first impression” of Christ's welcome - they offer the smile and hand of welcome we want to give not only to newcomers but to each other as a parish. They also facilitate seating before mass, arrange for the offertory procession  and assist the flow for communion. The collectors, assisted by the greeters where necessary, take up the collection at mass.

Place and time for ministry work

Greeters will be present at all the Sunday Masses, Special Masses on Day of Obligation and Special occasions. Collectors help with collection at weekly masses
